After canceling the remaining tour dates for his Saint Pablo tour, Kanye West was hospitalized on Monday, November 21. [http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/kanye-west-hospitalized-after-canceling-tour-dates-report-w451899] Recently it has been reported that the rapper has been going off on long tangents pertaining to politics and other celebrities during the duration of his shows. Apparently, the rapper would stop mid-performance and begin ranting instead of continuing the song and ultimately abruptly ending the show altogether. During a performance in Sacramento, West, cut the concert short after several songs, and called out to Jay Z and Beyonce: “Call me, brah, you still ain’t call me. Jay Z, I know you got killas, please don’t send them at my head. Just call me. Talk to me like a man,” he said. The latter show left fans so upset that Ticketmaster refunded their tickets. According to a source from the “Rolling Stones”, “At the time of his hospitalization, West hadn’t slept in about a week. He was also exhibiting “aggressive and terrifying” outbursts, according to another source, including one time in which he smashed his cell phone. “He was having difficulty identifying what was real,” a family insider told Us. “He was violent, but not violent toward people.” When his personal trainer phoned his doctor, who in turn placed the 911 call that led to his admission at Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA, he “resisted treatment,” a source said.” [http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/kanye-wests-hospital-stay-rappers-troubled-recent-weeks-w453465]
West remained hospitalized throughout the Thanksgiving holiday. Sources claim that the shock of his wife, Kim Kardashian, being robbed in Paris is one of the reasonings behind West abrupt behavior.
“He’s just exhausted,” a source told Us of why West pulled the plug on his remaining shows. “He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both his own line and the Adidas line. He’s a notorious workaholic … so balancing both that work — which is extremely important to him — and the rigors of the tour every night, it really wore him out. All the time spent away from his family has been a stress on him, as well. They are the most important to him. Obviously, he’s a professional and wants to give his fans a great experience, and I think his gut was telling him not to extend the tour through the end of the year, but he decided to push through. He doesn’t want to give his fans anything less than the best.” [http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/kanye-west-hospitalized-after-canceling-tour-dates-report-w451899]
This isn’t the first time Mr. West has been in the news for controversal actions and concequences. In June Kanye realesed a video for his song “Famous” which featured a controversal shot of naked celebirties ranging from Taylor Swift, his wife Kim, Rihanna, and Chris Brown to presidential elect Donald Trump. The song itself also featured lyrics where Kanye says: “For all my Southside niggas that know me best I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex Why? I made that bitch famous (God damn) I made that bitch famous” which the West couple claimed Taylor Swift herself approved of. Which led to social media meham as fans of both celebirties and friends of the celebirties weighed in via social media discussing who they think is telling the truth.
In statement previously released to PEOPLE when “Famous” made its debut, Swift’s rep said, “Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.’”The rep added: “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single “Famous” on her Twitter account.” [http://people.com/celebrity/kanye-west-and-taylor-swift-famous-phone-call-transcript/] It wasn’t until Kim Kardashian West posted a secretly recorded video of the call did Swift defend herself.
Taking to social media via instagram Swift screenshotted a note that she wrote on her phone and posted it to her account with the caption beneth it reading:” That moment when Kanye West secretly records your phone call, then Kim posts it on the internet.”
It’s not the first time that the two celebirties have clashed. With their very first inncident that happend during the 2009 MTV VMA’s while Swift was in the midst of accepting her award for “best female music video” in which he clamied that the awarded rightfully belongs to Byeonce. The action inspired the “Imma let you finish but..”memes that are present througout the web today.
A year later West apologizes for his actions only to backtrack a year later from the apology and in an interview with Access Hollywood on October 2010, West listed Swift’s Fearless among recent albums that should not have won the Grammy for Album of the Year. And as interviewers kept mentioning the VMA incident, West struggled to explain and sometimes defend it. [http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/taylor-swift-vs-kanye-west-a-beef-history-20160216]
It seems that Kanye always has sometype of celebirty drama revolving around him. In comparison to his recent controversy the evergoing feud with Swift did not cause a stir in the questioning of the wellbeing of Kanye. Nor did it provoke restlessness and cause the artist to be hospitalized. However the two incidednts are similar in how Kanye is constantly coming for or discussing other celebirties whether its during a concert, an award show or via social media the rapper seems to always have a feud going on with someone.
Us weekly reported that Kanye was released from the hospital on November 30, a little over a week after checking into the hospital. [http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/kanye-wests-hospitalization-caused-by-wrong-dosage-of-meds-report-w453663]
I hope that West uses this time to cope and recover from both his mental unstableness and the recent events that happened to his wife Kim Kardashian in Paris. Overall Kanye is a good artist a little rash and he lacks a filter but he produces great music. Hopefully he sees his mistakes and owns up to them by giving his fans what they paid for and more for the canceled concerts and ongoing rants doing perfomances.
